VTKAY, known as miss vi, is a Melbourne DJ playing Amapiano, Afrobeats, R and B and hip hop. Where sound meets culture and style.
Amapiano and Afrobeats are having their moment in Melbourne and the crowds who want that sound are no longer a niche. VTKAY plays it properly, with the log drum and the groove intact rather than a token track dropped into an otherwise unrelated set.
The sets move. Amapiano into Afrobeats into R and B into the hip hop the room already knows, read live rather than pre planned, because a booth is not a playlist and a promoter is paying for someone who can feel a floor turning.
Four full sets are published on YouTube, so a promoter can hear exactly what a night sounds like before committing to a booking. That matters more than a press shot and a genre tag.
